Though Vancouver is named after Captain George Vancouver but the name has been derived from the Dutch word “van Coevorden.” It was settled in the 1860s and has seen its development from a small lumber mill town to a metropolitan city with the arrival of the transcontinental railway. In the present day, Vancouver is a coastal city and the busiest sea-port in Canada. It is located in the Lower Mainland of the British Columbia. It was also voted the “Best City in America for the three consecutive years by Condé Nast Traveler magazine under different categories.
Vancouver is a dynamic city with diverse culture. Even the surrounding area around Vancouver is stunning. It is renowned for scenic park Stanley Park. And you can also take the pleasure of exploring the panoramic view of the city from the North Shore Mountains. Vancouver is also culturally rich as it has museums and galleries like Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver Maritime Museum, Science World and many more which are significant in their own way. Other noted architectural buildings of Vancouver which are worth to see are Christ Church Cathedral, Robson Square, Vancouver Library Square and many more.
Therefore, it cannot be denied that Vancouver is a great place to live which is blessed with beautiful mountains, azure oceans, dense rainforests, extensive parks and lovely beaches.
